Korpiklaani is a folk metal band from Finland. Their name is in Finnish and translates as Wilderness Clan. Korpiklaani started out creating folk music under the name Shaman and released two albums before adding metal elements to their music and changing their name in 2003. According to band creator Jonne Järvelä, Korpiklaani's music would be seen as "old people's music with heavy metal guitars" in Finland, although their song lyrics are often related to alcohol and partying. They have released two albums under Shaman and seven as Korpiklaani, with the most recent, Okon Wacka, released this year.
